Ice Storms

Ice Storms

I made this illustration for the Winter Issue of Woolgathering, my quarterly magazine about the seasons. I wrote a poem about the ferocity of an ice storm that came through our woods knocking everything in its path like a giant stomping and sideswiping.

I started Woolgathering as a way to encourage paying attention to the cycles in nature and begin to recognize those patterns in ourselves.

Yes winter brings ice storms that knock over trees, and we weep for them. We can also be as destructive in our lives for good reason and for not.
