Everyday Woolgathering: Bone Fragment

Picture

So, I spent most of yesterday morning praying to the Creative Gods for a sign telling me how to better shape my business. Creatively, I am pursuing a lot of different projects, and I think it’s too many directions to market effectively. It’s SUPER hard for me to choose one or two to focus on, but I think it’s best for sustenaining a business.

All morning I was trying to let go and read the tea leaves when I came across a bone fragment at the corner of the barn, right next to the stepping stone path to my studio. It’s not unusual to find bones here. I have found several–perhaps belonging to the same skeleton. I think they get washed down the hill and collect at the barn.

I picked it up for my Everyday Woolgathering Journal, and then it dawned on me that it might be a message from the Creative Gods. Coming back from the studio in the evening, Pat told me that we lost a limb on my favorite Oak Tree in the front of the house. It was a dead limb, but I can not describe to you how it hurts me when they fall. It breaks my heart.

Anyway, two signs of death and loss yesterday makes me think that I must cut the dead out of the business. I’m wincing because I know it’s going to hurt!
